Permission Inspector

Overview

This app is a free utility that reads the list of installed apps on your own device and displays the Android permissions each app has declared. It is designed to help you understand what permissions apps on your phone use.

What the App Reads

To provide its core functionality, the app reads the following information locally on your device:

• Names and package IDs of installed apps
• Permissions declared by each installed app
• App metadata: install date, last update, version, install size, category
• App icons

None of this information is transmitted, uploaded, or shared with any server or third party.

Data Storage

Permission Inspector does not:

• Create user accounts
• Store any data on external servers
• Save any information between sessions
• Access your contacts, camera, microphone, location, or files

Advertising

The app displays ads powered by Google AdMob. Google may collect certain information to serve relevant ads, including:

• Advertising ID (resettable in Android settings)
• General device information and region
• Ad interaction data

This data is collected and processed by Google under their own privacy policy. You can review it at policies.google.com/privacy.

You can opt out of personalised ads at any time in your device settings under Privacy → Ads.

Permissions Used by This App

• QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES — required to read the list of installed apps on Android 11 and above.
• INTERNET — required to load ads via Google AdMob.
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — used by AdMob to check connectivity before loading ads.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
